This bug is simple blocker/depend on sssd bump. >=sys-auth/sssd-1.10 need samba4 NDR_NBT (ndr.h, ... ) library, but samba4 hardmasked in tree. Also, please redirect all bugs to bump sssd here
Please have me tested the new ebuild when you are ready to commit this to make sure people will still be able to login afterwards.
Why did you close this bug?
Re-opening as I can't see a reason to close this bug.
1.11.3 is now the latest stable, would be extremely useful to get Gentoo up to date on this
>=sys-auth/sssd-1.13.3 ? Does that version even exist? Should be 1.11.3 I guess
1.11.4 available
There is no need to write to this bug. Nothing will happen until samba4 is unmasked.
Why does sssd depend on samba4? Isnt it available on other distributions without samba4 also?
(In reply to Marco Schinkel from comment #8) > Why does sssd depend on samba4? Isnt it available on other distributions > without samba4 also? If you try to configure it, you will get an error message that samba4 dev libraries are required. Other distributions probably have a working samba4 package.
(In reply to Markos Chandras from comment #9) > If you try to configure it, you will get an error message that samba4 dev > libraries are required. Other distributions probably have a working samba4 > package. How about a samba-devel package like Fedora has? Even if we can't get samba-4 working we could install the libraries so sssd can compile and even maybe authenticate against a working samba-4 server.

This is *not* the appropriate bug to discuss samba4 issues. This is about sssd. Refer to bug #447022 or similar bugs instead.
It appears samba4 is now optional so lets revise this bug https://git.fedorahosted.org/cgit/sssd.git/commit/src/external?id=a2e417f38c57ed87c956ddcecf4dafca93842b65
1.11.6 committed masked. Please test it in your environment as will I in my production systems before I unmask it.
