This error seems to be an issue with <=GCC 4.6 as it builds fine with GCC 4.7.

This happens in my machine as well. amd64 arch. GCC 4.6.

Please report this issue upstream and link back here. May you want to mention that it would be nice to have homerun build with all supported gcc versions from KDE SC.

Do you reported this bug upstream? What about =kde-misc/homerun-1.1.0?

No I did not. GCC 4.7 has gone stable so it's no longer an issue for me. I haven't tried 1.1.0.
