Comment 2 prokennexusa 2013-05-26 20:39:02 UTC
This error was caused by:

1) emerge mesa

I have spent the last 24 hours attempting the resolve the issue with no luck, this appears to have broken some aspects of my package system since I am no longer able to emerge other software.

I would really like to continue testing FreeBSD Gentoo but at the moment, I am down unable to proceed until we get feedback from the FreeBSD Gentoo team.
Comment 3 prokennexusa 2013-05-26 20:46:10 UTC
As you will see this is where the errors begin and I suspect are the key to resolving the issue:

gmake[7]: Entering directory `/var/tmp/portage/media-libs/mesa-9.1.3/work/Mesa-9.1.3/src/mesa/drivers/dri/common/xmlpool'

Comment 4 Naohiro Aota gentoo-dev 2013-05-28 03:44:08 UTC
This is portability issue.

http://cgit.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/tree/src/mesa/drivers/dri/common/xmlpool/Makefile.am#n69

>	echo "Updating ($$lang) $@ from $?."; \

Notice that "mo" assignment line lack ";". It work as expected on bash, but not on sh. With sh, lang is just set to empty, which is causing this build failure.
Comment 5 prokennexusa 2013-05-28 17:40:12 UTC
I have switched from sh to the bash shell and all my issues have been temporarily resolved. I say "temporarily" resolved sine I prefer the sh shell over bash.

Send me a patch via mesa-dev@lists.freedesktop.org and I'll commit it. :)
Comment 7 Naohiro Aota gentoo-dev 2013-06-24 08:53:53 UTC
I've sent the patch to the list.

Thanks. I applied the patch to the master and 9.1 branches. 9.1.4 should be right around the corner.
Comment 9 Chí-Thanh Christopher Nguyễn gentoo-dev 2013-07-02 10:21:25 UTC
9.1.4 is now in CVS
