12.2 is the second maintenance release in the 12.x series
Just noticed that this and a bunch of other bugs relating to xbmc had been assigned to the xbox herd. I don't think that is right as xbmc doesn't even support running on the xbox anymore. It is a media center app that supports lots of platforms but that is not one of them.

FWIW, I bumped this version locally a couple of days ago and it builds and has been running great since then.

should be all set now in the tree; thanks for the report! Commit message: Version bump http://sources.gentoo.org/media-tv/xbmc/xbmc-12.2.ebuild?rev=1.1 http://sources.gentoo.org/media-tv/xbmc/xbmc-9999.ebuild?r1=1.143&r2=1.144
Sorry for asking, but the main purpose of my bug report #470972 (which was marked as duplicate of this one) was not just a version bump but to add support for the raspberry pi. I won't be offended if you don't want it, just want to be sure that you are aware of that.
(In reply to comment #6) platform-specific USE flags don't really make sense. feel free to outline them in a dedicated bug though rather than lumping it into an unrelated version bump.
