Minimal fix

I am attaching a minimal fix to make this build with more recent autotools (from ~x86 here).

I also needed this for emerging KDE packages; maybe somebody knows whom to CC from that crowd so they can evaluate if this old package is still a needed dep.
Comment 3 Chris Smith 2013-04-30 16:51:53 UTC
FYI:
I've installed several packages that don't work with automake-1.13(.1) by
simply temporarily unmerging that specific version (ex: emerge -Ca
=sys-devel/automake-1.13.1 - don't unmerge all versions!). The package will
fall back to using a previous version, in my case automake-1.12.6. A world
update will remerge it unless masked.

(I needed it to install KDE as well)

Hi Chris,

That's a really ugly fix, and I think we should try to make stuff build with what people have installed in some reasonable limits. I hope you filed bug reports for these packages at least ;)

Just a workaround, not a fix at all :-)

The fix is when the developers start to use automake proper.

Until that we only can use such workarounds to do what they failed to do.

This software will be 10 years old in a month, but maybe they will make a new release if you send them a patch. In the meantime let at least try to patch over the configuration so it can build with what we use.
