Description Juergen Rose 2013-04-21 18:19:28 UTC
I can't emerge jed:

root@raspberry2ibmt:/root(74)# emerge -vuDN jed

 * IMPORTANT: 7 news items need reading for repository 'gentoo'.
 * Use eselect news to read news items.

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild  N     ] sys-libs/slang-2.2.4  USE="pcre png readline zlib -cjk -static-libs" 1,394 kB
[ebuild  N    *] app-editors/jed-0.99.19  USE="X gpm -xft" 864 kB

Total: 2 packages (2 new), Size of downloads: 2,258 kB

The following keyword changes are necessary to proceed:
 (see "package.accept_keywords" in the portage(5) man page for more details)
# required by jed (argument)
=app-editors/jed-0.99.19 **

NOTE: The --autounmask-keep-masks option will prevent emerge
      from creating package.unmask or ** keyword changes.

Use --autounmask-write to write changes to config files (honoring
CONFIG_PROTECT). Carefully examine the list of proposed changes,
paying special attention to mask or keyword changes that may expose
experimental or unstable packages.

But I tried to set all necessary keywords:

root@raspberry2ibmt:/root(75)# grep jed /etc/portage/packages.keywords
app-editors/jed ~* *
root@raspberry2ibmt:/root(76)# grep jed /etc/portage/packages.accept_keywords/jed
=app-editors/jed-0.99.19 **

And I tried to explicitely to unmask:

root@raspberry2ibmt:/root(77)# grep jed /etc/portage/packages.unmask
app-editors/jed

root@raspberry2ibmt:/root(78)# emerge --info

@arm: Please keyword.

Unfortunately, we've only a rudimentary test plan:

Comment 2 Juergen Rose 2013-04-24 16:41:14 UTC
Sorry for the trouble, all is my fault. I used the wrong filename. After renaming /etc/portage/packages.keywords to /etc/portage/package.keywords the issue disappeared.

Never mind.

@arm: Let's keyword this anyway.
Comment 4 Markus Meier gentoo-dev 2013-05-10 15:57:20 UTC
~arm keyword added, closing.
