On XMPP, messages can have subject lines, when pidgin receives a message of the latter kind, it only displays the message body but not the subject which is a loss of information. Here is the link for this bug discussion https://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/13541 with patch, unfortunately this patch was not included into 2.10.7... and looks like not in the upstream at all. This make me sad, since I need standalone client for jabber, and can't use pidgin only. :( Reproducible: Always

Just forgot to mentioned, I tested this patch with net-im/pidgin-2.10.7-r1 sources, and this patch works fine (subject lines from single jabber messages taped in gajim displays as part of message body in pidgin).
There's epatch_user support available in the pidgin ebuild, if you need this patch. I don't think we should add (non-criticial) patches that are not included in upstreams VCS.
Yep, I use epatch_user feature all this time (figured out this after bug submission). But, imo, better post bug with attached patch, maybe some one else need it too. :-)
IIRC it had been fixed upstream, please close it.
(In reply to Marco Scardovi (scardracs) from comment #5) > IIRC it had been fixed upstream, please close it. As not said, https://issues.imfreedom.org/issue/PIDGIN-13541/Display-subjects-for-messages-on-XMPP seems still open
it's a "wont fix" upstream?
