A git ebuild for video-media/motion is badly needed.  The latest release doesn't work on my system but the version in git does.

There hasn't been any commit activity on the project since july last year.
Instead of a live ebuild, a date snapshot ( from here for example http://www.lavrsen.dk/foswiki/bin/view/Motion/MotionDailySourceSnap ) should be better IMO.

^ User posted initial motion-9999.ebuild there. We refused the version back then, but I've reopened the bug now since it's been so long with no release.

I'll look if I can roll a snapshot ebuild...
