Description Hannes 2013-03-01 10:23:35 UTC
dev-python/numpy-1.6.2 ( and -r2, possibly other versions affected too) fails to build, if the intel fortran compiler is installed on the system.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. install ifc-13.1.2.146 (I dont know if that happens for other ifc versions)
2. re-emerge numpy

Actual Results:
numpy build fails with

a possible workaround is to unmerge ifc, before emerging numpy

/usr/local/share/macrovision

So it isn't even dev-lang/ifc but something you installed outside package management? I'd see INVALID if we didn't have a bug for it already. :)

No, that bug appears to have been fixed.

OK, let me backtrack a bit.

Please post the entire build log to this bug report.

I have ifc-13.1.2.146 installed, as there is no stable version available.
Comment 7 Hannes 2013-03-12 16:22:34 UTC
After reading the related bugs, I figured out that it is a license problem. I installed the valid license file in my user account, as I use ifort for some science stuff only.
When numpy is emerged it picks up ifort and tries to use it, even though there is no valid license (installing the license globally cures the problem).
No idea why checking the license ifort wants to write /usr/local/share/macrovision/storage/FLEXnet/*, though.

However, IMHO ebuilds using proprietary compilers should check for valid licenses somehow, or should be constrained to gcc via use flags.

When you are installing ifc you have been requested to install a valid license globally. You most probably worked around this check.
