Hello, the 4.0 version (see $URL) got released on 20 of February, although they have been too lazy to announce either of the 3.0.{5,6}, 3.1.1 and 4.0 versions on their website.

monodevelop is indirectly preventing (due to xsp) my machine from updating to mono-3.0  Can we get this bumped along with whatever else needs to happen with xsp?

I just attached an updated ebuild for monodevelop-4.0.12.
It needs the monolithik gtk-sharp and gnome-sharp ebuild from bug 382491 and mono-addins-1.0 from bug 482502.

Thank you for your work but we already got this in overlay and even 4.1.9 https://github.com/gentoo/dotnet/blob/master/dev-util/monodevelop/monodevelop-4.1.9.ebuild

As soon as blocker-bugs will be resolved it will go to tree.
For blocker bugs (**-sharp packages update) we need to add some compatibility blockers for older ebuilds + test to be sure that they cause no compatibility issues.

I've made the pull request which added an ebuild for monodevelop 5.0.1 : https://github.com/gentoo/dotnet/pull/7

Monodevelop 5.0.1 seems to be the latest downloadable version from mono-project/sources.

Ebuild itself is just a copy of previous version with modified fetch url. I don't know if that is enough, but at least for me it compiled ok and seems to be running ok too.

I've made an ebuild for 5.7.0 in dotnet overlay (https://github.com/gentoo/dotnet/pull/26).

I'm an ebuild noob so don't know if it is made the right way, but at least it works for me.

Problem is that new monodevelop archives does not contains some binaries required to build it - https://bugzilla.xamarin.com/show_bug.cgi?id=23696#c19

Version 5.9.5.9 from tree works here. Thanks for bumping!
