I was installing 2004 yesterday on my ataraid system and following the new handbook. One thing missing is any information on installing on ataraid. There should *at least* be this step: Don't forget to mount -o bind /dev /mnt/gentoo/dev before chtoot'ing! And maybe some examples about how the partitions look, i.e. /dev/ataraid/disc0/part1. Also couldn't hurt to have some instruction in the kernel complation section pertaining to ataraid. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual Results: You can't run /sbin/lilo if you don't mount -o bind /dev /mnt/gentoo/dev before chtoot'ing! Expected Results: lilo working
This needs to be added to the tips 'n tricks document (which isn't started yet). The same goes for #44273 (software raid).
I've added this to the tips 'n tricks document. http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/gentoo-x86-tipsntricks.xml This is now in CVS, should be online in less than an hour.
