9.2.1 will be removed soon. Does the issue exist in 9.2.3?

Try reemerging dev-db/postgresql-base-9.2.3-r1, then attempt emerging dev-db/postgresql-server-9.2.3-r1.
Comment 7 Moritz Schlarb 2013-02-14 09:27:24 UTC

Well yes, that fixed it...
But shouldn't base have been revbumped for such a change?
Comment 8 Aaron W. Swenson gentoo-dev 2013-02-14 12:21:58 UTC
I didn't change anything in the dev-db/postgresql-base ebuilds. Something else must have changed between your build -base and building -server.
Comment 9 Vicente Olivert Riera (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2013-03-10 01:56:09 UTC
=dev-db/postgresql-server-9.2.1 is no longer in portage. Bug summary changed to =dev-db/postgresql-base-9.2.3-r1

Anyway, this seems to be fixes. I'd sugest to close this bug and, if someone has this problem again, reopen it.

> Anyway, this seems to be fixes.

*fixed
Comment 11 Aaron W. Swenson gentoo-dev 2013-03-10 13:14:37 UTC
This needs to stay open because it isn't really fixed. The real fix is to move back to a unified ebuild rather than the split ebuilds we have now.
Comment 12 Aaron W. Swenson gentoo-dev 2014-11-03 14:52:27 UTC
dev-db/postgresql (the unified ebuilds) have been committed to the tree, along with virtual package, and dependencies have been updated.

This solution is to use the new, unified ebuilds.
