genkernel(8) has misleading text under "RAMDISK OPTIONS." The current text says "The following options can be passed as kernel parameters from the bootloader, which the ramdisk scripts would recognize." Genkernel does not actually pass these options. According to ryao@, this is to document options specific to the genkernel created ramdisk/initramfs. The text should at least specify that these options are not passed automatically and/or handled by /usr/bin/genkernel.
My suggestion is "The following options are available to be passed as kernel parameters from the bootloader. Genkernel will not handle this operation, please refer to your bootloader documentation for a more complete description of each."
It is probably also worth noting that "Genkernel also enables the use of the following ramdisk/initramfs commands:", but I cannot confirm the validity of this.
