Description Marcin Mirosław 2012-12-27 09:19:35 UTC
When dhcp server sends "domain-search" list openrc should put it into /etc/resolv.conf as "search" option.

Reproducible: Always
Comment 1 Sergey Popov gentoo-dev 2012-12-27 13:13:05 UTC
Which dhcp client do you use? IMO, it's client specific issue, not openrc one
Comment 2 Marcin Mirosław 2012-12-27 13:32:25 UTC
I'm using udhcp (from busybox), this bug is somehow related to bug #446862. Meseems openrc should ask dhcp server for option no 119 and add it to resolv.conf (as list for "search" option). Now openrc doesn't ask for it.

Ok, assigned this bug properly
Comment 4 Marcin Mirosław 2013-06-18 14:50:53 UTC
Hi! Should I expect any progress with this bug in near future[1]?:)
[1] - near future means about couple of months
Comment 5 William Hubbs gentoo-dev 2013-06-18 19:17:52 UTC
We are getting ready to split the oldnet scripts out of OpenRc into
their own package so development can happen independently for them,
so yes, I think in the next couple of months or so you will see progress
on this bug. :-)
Comment 6 Marcin Mirosław 2013-06-18 20:00:10 UTC
Oh no. I can see in my mind eyes there will be another chance to lost remote host.
Thanks for info.
Comment 7 William Hubbs gentoo-dev 2013-06-18 23:23:35 UTC
You shouldn't lose anything. /etc/conf.d/net should not be deleted, and
all I'm thinking you will have to do is emerge the package with the
oldnet scripts.

Is any chance to have this (bug fixed|feature included) before stabilization of openrc-0.12.2 happens?
