CD image: install-amd64-minimal-20121210.iso Upon booting the install cd on my Lenovo T61, the wireless card is not detected. It's a Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 4965 card. The iwl4965 drivers have been properly loaded, but the card is not detected due to missing firmware. Dmesg output: iwl4965 0000:03:00.0: Detected Intel(R) Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN, REV=0x4 iwl4965 0000:03:00.0: device EEPROM VER=0x36, CALIB=0x5 iwl4965 0000:03:00.0: Tunable channels: 13 802.11bg, 19 802.11a channels iwl4965 0000:03:00.0: irq 47 for MSI/MSI-X iwl4965 0000:03:00.0: request for firmware file 'iwlwifi-4965-2.ucode' failed. iwl4965 0000:03:00.0: no suitable firmware found! Is it possible to include the firmware on the install cd?
This should now be fixed since the decompression of the initrd[1] was fixed and sys-kernel/linux-firmware[2]. Feel free to reopen this bug if you hit the same issue.
