when running crossdev --arch=sparc -u I receive the following error.

Actual Results:  
error.

Expected Results:  
seccessful build of the tool chain.

While the target archs are kinda different, the error messages are the same, so we'll focus on only one.  If the error is solved for one, it should be solved for both.
