The current version in Portage was released June 2009. The latest version in September 2012. I'm working on an ebuild for the new version and should have it uploaded after ironing out a few issues.
Created attachment 332880 [details] net-proxy/dansguardian-2.12.0.3.ebuild I tried to bring the ebuild up to modern specs. I cleaned out a lot of cruft that had to do with pre 2.9 versions which haven't been in the Portage tree in about 3 years. It probably needs some tweaking - for example some more informative messages post installation. Also, it probably needs some changes regarding alterations it makes to config files - particularly those involving virus scanners. The ChangeLog seems to indicate that DansGuardian no longer requires ClamAV or Kaspersky to be daemonized (I'm trying to get clarification about this on the DansGuardian mailing list). Also, compilation will fail if the email USE flag is enabled (the DansGuardian Sourceforge page has a patch for this which is being discussed at http://sourceforge.net/p/dansguardian/patches/12/ ). Other than that, it's in good shape and should work well enough for some testing.
