Like I said on the bug 446293 (https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=446293), I post the next prelude ebuilds. This ebuild is libprelude, category : dev-libs. The libprelude is the Prelude Framework Library. Reproducible: Always

gcc 4.7.2 is hardmasked, may you please try with stable gcc ? Work for me with gcc 4.5.4
Created attachment 333404 [details] dev-libs/libprelude-1.0.1.ebuild With repoman full corrections
i have discovered build failure reason - libprelude does not build correctly with glibc 2.16. With current stable - everything fine. This is caused by fact, that gets has been declared as a security hole(fgets should be used instead), see http://archive.linuxfromscratch.org/mail-archives/lfs-dev/2012-July/066729.html. This can be workarounded by a dirty hack(and of course it should be reported upstream not to use gets anymore). Created attachment 333530 [details, diff] dev-libs/libprelude-1.0.1.ebuild.patch Indeed, gets ... OK for the patch, work for me. I will report it upstream soon.

Did you report it upstream? Was it accepted? Do you have a URL for the upstream bug?
Thought i have done this before holidays ... The issue : https://www.prelude-ids.org/issues/530 Hopes it will be accepted and corrected soon.
(In reply to comment #12) > Thought i have done this before holidays ... > > The issue : https://www.prelude-ids.org/issues/530 > > Hopes it will be accepted and corrected soon. There is no activity upstream but I don't quite like the existing patch as we use an insecure function. So I will wait for upstream (or someone else) to provide a proper fix
So we have to wait several month :( The internal team is reorganizing. The activity can not be seen from outside. We have done thoses Prelude ebuilds for nothing ....
(In reply to comment #14) > So we have to wait several month :( > The internal team is reorganizing. The activity can not be seen from outside. > > We have done thoses Prelude ebuilds for nothing .... it's not for nothing. But introducing security problems to portage is not acceptable ;)
we have dev-libs/libprelude in the tree. Is this the same? Can we close the ticket?
(In reply to Jonas Stein from comment #16) > we have dev-libs/libprelude in the tree. Is this the same? Can we close the > ticket? Seems so as https://www.prelude-ids.org/ (ebuilds in this bug) and https://www.prelude-siem.org/ (ebuilds in portage) webpages look the same
Hello Yes it is the same, we can close this ticket
