Hi, Update from 0.9.8.4 to 0.11.5. At the end of the merge process I noticed the following rm error. Should I do something ? I reemerged openrc successfully without it. > >>> Regenerating /etc/ld.so.cache... > >>> Original instance of package unmerged safely. > * Caching service dependencies ... [ ok ] > rm: cannot delete « /lib64/rc/init.d »: Device or resource busy > * The OpenRC dependency data was migrated successfully. > * Caching service dependencies ... [ ok ] > * In this version of OpenRC, the loopback interface no longer > * satisfies the net virtual. Another unrelated thing (small typo) : $ grep ifyou /etc/conf.d/hwclock Thanks. Reproducible: Always $ emerge --info Portage 2.1.11.31 (default/linux/amd64/10.0/desktop, gcc-4.5.4, glibc-2.15-r3, 3.4.9-gentoo x86_64) Can you please attach the full build log? Thank you.
(In reply to comment #1) > Can you please attach the full build log? Thank you. No, because I don't have any build log since the merge process was successful. And the error seems to happen only on update, I can't reproduce it on this system with an emerge -1av openrc. I will try to update openrc on another system ASAP to see if I get the same error. Should I enable some special emerge parameters to get some debug infos ?
Created attachment 330218 [details] # emerge --debug -uav1 openrc build log Here is the build log with the --debug emerge parameter on another system. The emerge --info for that system will follow. The rm error is there, if you do : > $ grep supprimer sys-apps\:openrc-0.11.5\:20121122-082330.log > rm: impossible de supprimer « /lib64/rc/init.d »: Périphérique ou ressource occupé This is the french error message, which means : > rm: cannot delete « /lib64/rc/init.d »: Device or resource busy
emerge --info for the above build log. # emerge --info Portage 2.1.11.31 (default/linux/amd64/10.0/desktop, gcc-4.5.4, glibc-2.15-r3, 3.4.9-gentoo x86_64) Reading /lib64/rc/sh/migrate-to-run.sh, at the end I can see : > rm -rf "/lib64/rc/init.d" > umount "/lib64/rc/init.d" I don't understand how you can try to rm -rf a dir before unmounting it. Maybe these two commands should be reversed ? Anyway, since the rm command has failed on both systems, should I remove this dir manually ? Thanks.
Yes, you are correct. I am working on a patch now. Yes, it is safe to remove that directory. This was a strange one because I didn't get the error when I upgraded my amd64 laptop.
Hey William, When will the fix be available in the tree? ETA? Best regards, Daniel
This is fixed in commit 0a72893. This will be back ported to openrc-0.11.6.
