I would love to learn more about gentoo linux and possibly get into gentoo development. My preferred method of reading large amounts of text is via epub on my ereader. It would be a great feature if the documentation on gentoo.org/doc had options to export as epub.
This isn't as easy as we'd like it to be, although I do agree it would be a nice feature. Especially for the handbook and larger documents. This won't be done in the short term though (it'll require building up stylesheets towards ePub, which includes infrastructural support for automatically creating the zip files (epub's are basically zip-files with HTML content in it).
no way we can implement this, for the same reason we can't generate a lot of other static content, like handbook ebuilds (or tarballs or zips or what have you), or auto-generate PDFs for the weekly installation media.
