Description Olav Sandstå 2012-10-28 20:24:32 UTC
When I try to install mythtv using the latest available ebuild and after having disabled the hls use flag I get the following error when configuring myth:

* Running ./configure  --prefix=/usr --libdir=/usr/lib --libdir-name=lib --mandir=/usr/share/man --enable-audio-alsa --disable-audio-jack --disable-audio-pulseoutput --disable-altivec --disable-dvb --disable-firewire --disable-lirc --disable-libxvid --dvb-path=/usr/include --enable-xrandr --enable-xv --enable-x11 --enable-nonfree --disable-libcec --disable-libdns-sd --disable-libtheora --disable-libvorbis --without-bindings=perl,python --compile-type=profile --disable-joystick-menu --enable-symbol-visibility --enable-pic --cpu=pentium4 --disable-distcc --disable-ccache
ERROR! You must have the Lame MP3 encoding library installed to compile MythTV.

If you think configure made a mistake, make sure that you are using the latest
version of MythTV from git. If the latest version fails, report the problem to the
mythtv-dev@mythtv.org mailing list or IRC #mythtv on irc.freenode.net
Include the log file "config.ep" produced by configure as this will help
solving the problem.

Proposed patch for the mythtv ebuild

Proposed patch that adds a dependency on lame that is not controlled by any use flag.
Comment 2 Olav Sandstå 2012-10-28 20:35:12 UTC
The reason for the mythtv configure script to fail is that it can not find Lame installed on the machine. Lame seems to be required by mythtv.

There is a dependency on lame in the mythtv ebuild (mythtv-0.25.2_p20120825.ebuild) but this requires that the hls use flag is set:

        hls? (
                media-libs/faac
                media-libs/libvpx
                >=media-libs/x264-0.0.20110426
                >=media-sound/lame-3.93.1
        )

I think mythtv should depend on lame independent of any use flags being set. I have attached a patch that fixes this for the mythtv-0.25.2_p20120825.ebuild.
Comment 3 Doug Goldstein (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2015-09-06 03:54:10 UTC
This fix will be rolled into the next 0.27.5 bump.
