Description Ognian Tenchev 2012-10-23 11:39:13 UTC
With xf86-video-intel-2.20.10 and xf86-video-intel-2.20.12 X server crashes when scrolling long page in firefox for example: http://uksbsguy.com/blogs/doverton/archive/2007/07/21/how-to-get-rid-of-the-installer-configuration-dialog-when-running-office-2007-and-office-2003-on-the-same-system-for-vista-and-other-versions-of-windows.aspx - before reach half of it.

Does this happen both with EXA and UXA? If possible, please report upstream at https://bugs.freedesktop.org/ and get an X server stacktrace as described in http://www.x.org/wiki/Development/Documentation/ServerDebugging

I use SNA. Not sure EXA is still supported, but will try UXA later.
Comment 4 Ognian Tenchev 2012-10-23 13:13:20 UTC
xf86-video-intel-2.20.12 with UXA - no corruption, no segv, clear log - working fine
Comment 5 Ognian Tenchev 2012-10-23 13:19:30 UTC
xf86-video-intel-2.20.12 with
Option "AccelMethod" "exa"
Not sure it is working like EXA since there is no indication in log. Also log says:
(II) UXA(0): Driver registered support for the following operations
which is a little bit confusing for me ...

However with this setup - no corruption, no segv, clear log - working fine

So this must be SNA issue only
Comment 6 Chí-Thanh Christopher Nguyễn gentoo-dev 2012-10-23 13:28:40 UTC
You are right, EXA is no longer supported.

This looks like a bug in xf86-video-intel indeed. When you report a bug at freedesktop.org, please add the link to this bug.
