Using gnome-mplayer compiled using gtk2, always have a black background when playing video in fullscreen mode. Lot of video player have this behavior and lot of users are used to it. Compiling gnome-mplayer with gtk3 slightly changed this behavior, I don't know whether it's intended or not, but I don't think it is. Depending on the theme you use, background will be black (default theme, ...), or other color (adwaita, xfce, ...) Allowing user to compile using gtk2 through flag (still upstream default), would allow more predictible behavior. Reproducible: Always
Report this to the upstream instead, here: http://code.google.com/p/gnome-mplayer/issues/list Reopen the bug if upstream concurs it's a bug so we can implement the fix. Thanks!
Even gmtk-1.0.7 can use gtk+:3, upstream still consider using gtk+:2. can someone report this bugs upstream, someone here should already have an account there (I don't dare to), would be nice, and helpful for releasing faster a gtk+:3 release of gtmk/gnome-mplayer. I'll better consider writing an email to project main developper
