Description Craig Andrews gentoo-dev 2012-10-06 03:43:22 UTC
When using net-p2p/deluge-1.3.5 with net-libs/rb_libtorrent-0.16.4, deluge won't download anything.

Add a torrent, such as this one:
magnet:?xt=urn:btih:c35d501d9a5a822dddad825fa94306bcfe522693&dn=ubuntu+12.04.1+desktop+%2864+bit%29& (ubuntu 12.04.1 desktop (64 bit))
Deluge will connect to the trackers, find a bunch of peers, but it won't download anything. Progress is always at 0.0%, and it never makes a connection to a peer.

When using net-libs/rb_libtorrent-0.16.3, deluge works fine.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge =net-p2p/deluge-1.3.5 =net-libs/rb_libtorrent-0.16.4
2. start deluge
3. add a torrent
Actual Results:
Torrent never downloads

Expected Results:
Torrent downloads

# emerge deluge rb_libtorrent -pv

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

same problem with rb_libtorrent-0.16.5

Upstream bug report for libtorrent:
Comment 3 Timewarper 2012-11-15 18:28:39 UTC
net-p2p/deluge-1.3.5 doesn't work with rb_libtorrent-0.16.5 to download magnet-links either.

The solutions according to the deluge devs are:
1) Downgrade to rb_libtorrent-0.16.3
2) Patch deluge

I request the maintainer to patch deluge-1.3.5, here is the patch the dev team has released:
Comment 4 Ben de Groot (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-11-25 05:51:48 UTC
please apply this patch, then we can stabilize rb_libtorrent 0.16.5

We (rb_libtorrent maintainers) will apply this patch (and adjust the deps accordingly) in 48 hours unless someone commits this in the meantime.
