Description Zoltan Puskas 2012-09-22 15:21:25 UTC
When trying to upload a file that is not readable by the user, konqueror (with webkit engine enabled!) page loading will freeze. Works if KHTML engine is used.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a bug on (logged in)
2. Try to attach a file to the bug report with file upload thas is not readable by the user (the file I tried it with was a build log generated by portage which was unaccessible to my user account because of permissions)
Actual Results:
Konqueror page load hangs on file upload, can't open the same site in a new tab.

Expected Results:
Should inform of unsuccessful file upload, just like when using the KHTML engine.

Please report this to upstream.
Comment 3 Michael Palimaka (kensington) gentoo-dev 2012-10-17 13:03:12 UTC
I suspect this may be an issue with qt-webkit, since I can reproduce with rekonq as well.

CCing qt@.

Confirmed with qupzilla as well. Please report upstream.

ping? has anyone reported this issue upstream?
Comment 6 Zoltan Puskas 2013-02-07 21:39:05 UTC
Still present in x11-libs/qt-webkit-4.8.4. Actually it seems to have been around for some time. See upstream:

I have dropped a comment there too, also linked bug report form them there.
Comment 7 Davide Pesavento gentoo-dev 2013-02-07 22:55:26 UTC
Assigning to qt
Comment 8 Davide Pesavento gentoo-dev 2014-01-06 15:23:54 UTC
Apparently qupzilla-1.6.0 contains a workaround for this issue.
Comment 9 Davide Pesavento gentoo-dev 2015-10-31 15:19:07 UTC
There won't be any more releases of qtwebkit:4, and we can't fix it downstream without a patch. Sorry.
