Shortly after a connection is established, NetworkManager disconnects from the AP. Connecting using dhcpcd and wpa_supplicant seems to be working fine, however. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start NetworkManager 2. Establish a connection to an AP Actual Results: A disconnection happens. Expected Results: Connection to be established. emerge --info: Portage 2.1.11.19 (default/linux/amd64/10.0/desktop/gnome, gcc-4.7.1, glibc-2.15-r2, 3.4.10-tuxonice x86_64) Please report this problem directly to networkmanager developers: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=NetworkManager Attach the logs, your kernel config, and information about the wireless card and driver that you are using. And then please post the bug url here so we can keep track of it. (I am asking you to write the upstream report because I cannot reproduce the problem, and networkmanager developers will probably need to ask you some questions about your setup so that they can figure out the cause of the bug.)
Since the bug appears to be related to ipv6, as a temporary workaround, you may try to disable ipv6 for wlan0 through the gnome-control-center or nm-applet gui (options → ipv6 settings → method=ignore)
The upstream bug report can be seen here: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=684711

The (In reply to comment #7) > Created attachment 324830 [details] > kernel config (tuxonice 3.4.11) The bug was reported on tuxonice 3.4.10 but is still present on tuxonice 3.4.11.
(In reply to comment #5) > Since the bug appears to be related to ipv6, as a temporary workaround, you > may try to disable ipv6 for wlan0 through the gnome-control-center or > nm-applet gui (options → ipv6 settings → method=ignore) I tried setting ipv6 to ignore, but it did not help.
Is this error still present in networkmanager-0.9.6.4?
Cannot it be the following bug in dhclient? https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=662254 https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=680596 There is a lot of dhclient fixes in Fedora that were not accepted upstream.
This is already a rather old bug ... but a possible cause is that net.wlan* was started outside of NetworkManager. With OpenRC, the command rc-update show should not list any net.* entries, and and /etc/rc.conf should have rc_hotplug="!net.*"
What is the status of this with 0.9.8.2? Also, it's not clear to me if it's a dhclient problem (can't you test with a dhcpclient alternative) or a kernel driver one :S
Found this https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=148493 , so set ipv6 to "link local only" should work, but you need do it again after next boot.
please retest with 0.9.8.2-r3
