Created attachment 324122 [details] quake2-aprq2-9999.ebuild The AprQ2 project was previously abandoned but has recently been picked up again. While not quite as polished as the single-player focused Yamagi Quake 2, it does support the R1Q2 protocol, which is generally required these days. R1Q2 itself has its own client but it doesn't work so well. See bug #314753 about that. Unfortunately, there are no source tarballs and the Subversion checkout is quite a hefty one. It does include a very nice high-res texture pack though. Given enough interest, we could probably request tarballs from upstream. I don't know whether the texture pack works with the other engines but if it does, that could be provided as a separate download and package.
