Upgrading iproute2 makes openvpn unusable. Openvpn tries to run /sbin/ip and it fails. It's needed to recompile openvpn.
Please don't forget some hosts are available only via openvpn, such upgrade make host unreachable.

you moved the binary for bug 330115, it also noted that there should be a symlink, and I think you missed that.

i responded in that bug to the symlink idea

if openvpn is the only breakage, that's a known bug.  iproute2 isn't the only upgrade that breaks it.
