eix-0.23.10:20120730-213039.log

Build log should always be verbose as per talk on dev-ML, please force it until some EAPI includes a fix for this.

Other versions might be affected as well.
Comment 1 Martin Väth 2012-08-04 12:46:46 UTC
More verbose build log makes no sense for eix since all important data
(e.g. all CFLAGS/LDFLAGS and modifications thereof) is output anyway
by the eix build system.

However, I do not want to argue here, if it is the new policy that the
the information should be hidden in tons of useless junk.

So I patched the build system of the eix git master on BerliOS
(>=eix-0.26.2) to honour --disable-silent-rules (which will be default
on EAPI=5 anyway).

I suggest to wait until eix-0.26.2 is released or perhaps even
until EAPI=5 can be used and not to backport the "bugfix"
(or IMHO regression): There is no technical reason to hurry
with it more than with any real bug.

There is no hurry, especially if you plan to fix it in a larger scale for all your packages either via mass eapi-bump (when we get EAPI=5) or via eclass fix.

I will however add all packages I notice to the tracker, thanks.
