Description Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2012-08-01 21:09:49 UTC
If that file is really required maybe some dep is missing, if not, I don't see the point on showing this message a lot of times when logging in and every time udisks2 does anything (like mount/unmount some drive)

sys-fs/udisks-1.98.0 was built with the following:
USE="crypt gptfdisk introspection (multilib) test -debug -systemd"
Comment 1 Doug Goldstein (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-08-02 04:50:03 UTC
/etc/crypttab is used on Debian and RHEL based systems (maybe others as well) for handling encrypted volumes. Think of it as the /etc/fstab of encrypted volumes. Gentoo uses /etc/conf.d/dm-crypt as our configuration file. Unfortunately the formats are completely different. I've discussed in the past deprecated our variant and going with /etc/crypttab.
Comment 2 Leho Kraav (:macmaN @lkraav) 2012-08-04 18:15:26 UTC
Hrm. Should we just do 'touch /etc/crypttab' in the meanwhile, or...?
Comment 3 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2012-08-06 02:28:13 UTC
udisks is seriously brain dead if it spams logs when that file doesn't exist
Comment 4 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2012-09-05 17:47:35 UTC
Does the missing file cause udisks to not work ok? If not, maybe we could patch udisks to not show that message :|

It seems to work fine without it..
Comment 7 Samuli Suominen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-10-03 06:41:31 UTC
This spam is solved in 2.0.0, but bug 429966 is for converting to /etc/crypttab for better generic compability
