This bug tracks our progress towards switching the default ruby implementation to ruby19 (from the current ruby18). This will need to happen since ruby18 will no longer see new releases (barring important security updates). We should bring out a new revision of eselect-ruby which defaults to ruby19, and we need to publicize this to encourage current Gentoo users to switch as well via a news item. Before we can do that we need to ensure that all blockers to this bug are solved, and that a sufficiently large selection of packages is available in the stable tree to provide a good experience.
Actually this order is not determined by eselect-ruby. I've now changed the order in the default RUBY_TARGETS so that ruby19 is handled first. This should cause ruby19 to be installed first and thus grab the default eselect-ruby slot.
