The ebuild file for the game data of HOMMIII

Hi,

I have composed a set of ebuilds which include vcmi and vcmi-data for the project VCMI, which is a very good project for cloning the classic turn-based strategy game Heroes of Might & Magic III (HOMMIII). I think it's important to share it with other people who like this project.

This is my first ebuild submitting on bugs.gentoo.org. Maybe the format needs some correction. Please point them out so that I can do it better.

VCMI is a project to use the textures, graphics and animition from HOMMIII (the WoG version). That means it need a WoG installation to install. The project itself is of GPL2. I composed the vcmi-data ebuild to install the data files and the vcmi ebuild to install the game engine. You can find the vcmi-data-0.89.ebuild files in the attachment.

I will submit the vcmi ebuild in another bug.

Enjoy it.
Weihua

I use this file to make sure the name of the HOMMIII files are in correct cases because in linux VCMI is case sensitive.

Also you need to set the variable HOMM3WOG_ROOT to the path where WoG is installed so that vcmi-data will be installed.

is there a standalone mod or something for vcmi?

I don't own HOMM3.
