Took me ages to find this - it was breaking ldirectord DNS monitoring in sys-cluster/resource-agents, but I can reproduce it in three lines of perl. If something sets a signal handler before Net::DNS is "use"d or "require"d then the signal handler gets removed when the "require" occurs.
