Description M. B. 2012-06-25 22:05:21 UTC
When you run app-vim/matrix in a virgin vim session via :matrix it makes the memory-usage of vim grow rapidly - in my case ~500megabytes within 10 minutes. Please set the plugin unstable or remove it altogether.

Installed vim-version: 7.3.409
Use-Flags: X acl gpm nls python vim-pager
used xterm: urxvt

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. install app-vim/matrix
2. fire up vim
3. invoke by running :matrix
4. observe memory usage of vim in htop for ~10 minutes

Portage 2.2.0_alpha112 (default/linux/amd64/10.0, gcc-4.5.3, glibc-2.14.1-r3, 3.2.12-gentoo x86_64)

(I think it's mean as kind of a toy and not to run for any length of time.)
Comment 2 M. B. 2012-07-11 01:20:36 UTC
uhm, i know it's a toy - but it's marked "stable". which it does not deserve.
Comment 3 Patrice Clement gentoo-dev 2017-03-01 23:55:43 UTC
Do you still experience the issue with vim-8.0? Please reopen if you do. Thanks.
