Description Jude Pereira 2012-06-25 17:15:25 UTC
When building sys-apps/findutils-4.4.2-r1 on uclibc, it fails at this point:

In file included from regex.c:58:
regex_internal.h:185:55: warning: integer overflow in preprocessor expression
rpmatch.c:58: error: redefinition of 'rpmatch'
/usr/include/stdlib.h:810: note: previous definition of 'rpmatch' was here
make[4]: *** [rpmatch.o] Error 1
make[4]: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs....

If I comment out the entire rpmatch function in stdlib.h, it builds just fine.
Is this a good workaround?

Comment 4 Jude Pereira 2012-06-26 16:12:05 UTC
This also happens for a few other packages, like app-arch/tar-1.26.
I will attach the build log for that too.

This also happens for coreutils.

Disables uclibc provided rpmatch

This is a quick and (possibly?) dirty patch against /usr/include/stdlib.h to disable the uclibc provided definition of rpmatch.

FYI: I think rpmatch should be migrated into libc, but we'll need to patch and push upstream at least three fixes.
Comment 8 Anthony Basile gentoo-dev 2012-06-30 22:05:52 UTC
@vapier, I was confused why I wasn't hitting this on vanilla uclibc, and then noticed this is due to your 00_all_rpmatch.patch. My patch in the previous comment just reverts yours. How should we proceed with this? What do you think of a USE="vanilla" like we have with gcc and glibc?
