phonesim is a Qt4 application by Intel that provides a virtual modem using TCP/IP. net-misc/ofono can use it if USE=phonesim, providing cheap and helpful way to test ofono-based applications.

Having a phonesim ebuild is needed to get some headsets working:

So this would actually be useful. The phonesim use flag on ofono isn't worth much without phonesim itself… Perhaps the ofono maintainer wants to take this on? (One can hope.)
