The ebiuld file for wireless-tools 26 (stable) is missing a line for inclusion of the iwlib.h header file. The unstable version already has it, but people with a "stable" codebase will not be able to emerge apps relying on that header file. Unfortunately, KDE 3.2.0 (kdenetwork/wifi) is one of these apps.
Steps to Reproduce:
It's the missing /usr/include/iwlib.h for sure.
A workaround (manually copy the file (iwlib.h) from /usr/portage/distfiles/wireless_tools.26.tar.gz to /usr/include and reemerging kdenetwork) works. I removed that file to match again with Gentoo's installingrecords.
wireless-tools-27_pre7 put the iwlib.h to /usr/include but don't work with kdenetwork, here the workaround is needless.
Okay, this should hopefully be fixed now. Please test for me, and i may add a revision with this fix, just so i know people get this updated.
getting "checking if wireless tools >= 25 are installed... yes"
after emerge kdefetwork kwifimanager is in the kcontrollcenter
Yes it works now ;)
Cool beans. marking closed.
