Hi Arches, net-fs/cifs-utils is the replacement of the old and rotten net-fs/mount-cifs , so please do your magic on =net-fs/cifs-utils-5.4 Targets: alpha amd64 arm hppa ia64 ppc ppc64 s390 sh sparc x86 Thanks.

[blocks B ] <net-fs/samba-3.6_rc1 ("<net-fs/samba-3.6_rc1" is blocking net-fs/cifs-utils-5.4) Wouldn't it be nice if a matching net-fs/samba went stable along with this?
arm stable

net-fs/cifs-utils-5.5 does not mount a samba share. I does not find any log message. It just happens nothing. mount /mnt/share4 # df |grep share4 #
I confirm comment #6. mount -v print nothing. dmesg prints nothing. the mount silently fail. 5.4 works fine. I think this should be filed in another bug, but i found it here with search, so I hope the maintainer will do it if needed.
Stable for HPPA.

ppc done
ppc64 done
@alpha, @ia64, @sparc: There currently is no alternative for your arches to mount-cifs, so the weekly builds CDs will fail to build or you'll lose cifs support in them.
@jmbsvicetto: thanks a lot for the poke @alpha/ia64/sparc: sorry for the sudden rush, but given the number of bugs and invalid glsa, mount-cifs really has to go

The only job for this tool is to mount cifs-shares (samba-shares).
alpha/ia64/s390/sh/sparc stable, closing
