Boost provides a number of header-only libraries [1] which don't require any compiling and probably don't introduce any specific deps. Those are, for example, boost.mpl & boost.units. I think users will appreciate being able to use applications requiring those libraries only without having to build a complete boost. Thus, it would be great if those could be installed by a separate ebuild (say, dev-cpp/boost-templates), and that could be pulled in by actual dev-libs/boost.
