Description Holger Hoffstätte 2012-04-02 14:36:49 UTC
noflushd shuts down block devices that are not in use; this can significantly save power/noise/heat when multiple drives are used for archival/backups etc.
The version in portage is very old and does not even work correctly any longer with newer kernels/SATA drives, see $URL for my upstream bug report in 2004 (!).
The latest version 2.8 from 2010 fixes this problem.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. run noflushd on kernel >2.6.9 with a SATA drive
2. it doesn't work
3. :(

Expected Results:
noflushd should work with recent kernels & drives
