noflushd shuts down block devices that are not in use; this can significantly save power/noise/heat when multiple drives are used for archival/backups etc. The version in portage is very old and does not even work correctly any longer with newer kernels/SATA drives, see $URL for my upstream bug report in 2004 (!). The latest version 2.8 from 2010 fixes this problem. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. run noflushd on kernel >2.6.9 with a SATA drive 2. it doesn't work 3. :( Expected Results: noflushd should work with recent kernels & drives
