Description Paul de Vrieze (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-01-29 04:55:44 UTC
I get segfaults in the spinlock code of samba when compiling with:
CFLAGS="-march=i586 -mcpu=i586 -O2"

I allready reported the bug to the samba team, but it might be a compiler bug.
For now I think running without spinlocks should solve the problem

very likely a samba bug. they tried to fix it, but problems
remain as the solution was not simple.

disabling spinlocks.

perhaps this might fix problems people have been having with
smb mounts as well. hope so ;)
