I have icedtea-bin-1.10.4 and when I try to run jvisualvm, it says "jvisualvm is not available for icedtea6-bin on x86_64". A search with e-file seems to indicate that none of the icedtea versions provide this tool. However, http://icedtea.classpath.org/wiki/VisualVM suggests that it can be built. Reproducible: Always
there is dev-util/visualvm package in java-overlay: $ equery meta visualvm * dev-util/visualvm [java-overlay] Herd: java (java@gentoo.org) Maintainer: gnu_andrew@member.fsf.org (Andrew John Hughes) Upstream: None specified Homepage: http://icedtea.classpath.org Location: /var/lib/layman/java-overlay/dev-util/visualvm Keywords: 1.3.3:6: ~amd64 Keywords: 1.3.3-r7:7: ~amd64
i've just copied visualvm ebuilds to the main tree.
Thanks, I wonder if a binary package could be provided, as visualvm wants to pull 122 packages (almost 600 MB of downloads) on my system, and I don't really want them.
I added Bug 397843 for that request.
