Description Philip Ward 2011-11-16 16:02:22 UTC
Attempting to build libre office pre-merge check fails thus:

 * Checking for at least 1 gibibytes RAM ...                                                                                                                                [ ok ]
 * Checking for at least 9 gibibytes disk space at "/tmp/tmpuER5dp/portage/app-office/libreoffice-3.4.4.2-r1/temp" ...                                                      [ !! ]
 * There is NOT at least 9 gibibytes disk space at "/tmp/tmpuER5dp/portage/app-office/libreoffice-3.4.4.2-r1/temp"

The build does not need space in /tmp, it needs the space in /var/tmp/portage, which for some users is on a different filesystem to /tmp.

Should the pre-merge checks be adjusted to look for space in /var/tmp/portage?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have less than 9GB space in / or /tmp
2. Have more than 9GB space in /var/tmp/portage
3. emerge libreoffice
Actual Results:
pre-merge check fails as it cannot find enough disk space for the build.

Expected Results:
The build should continue as there is enough space in /var/tmp/portage where the build actually takes place.

This can be worked around by mounting extra space under /tmp
