Description Fab 2011-10-09 09:41:48 UTC

On my system I want to install www-apps/trac with the following useflag :

> [ebuild   R    ] www-apps/trac-0.12.2  USE="sqlite -cgi -fastcgi -i18n
> -mysql -postgres -subversion -vhosts" 0 kB

I want to use trac with the builtin tracd webserver [1], but webapp-config does not allow me to set the correct value to the vhost_server variable in
/etc/vhosts/webapp-config. This leads to a webapp-config fatal error, because I do not have any webserver installed on my system.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge trac
Actual Results:
 * Compilation and optimization of Python modules for CPython 2.7 ... [ ok ]

 * vhosts USE flag not set - auto-installing using webapp-config
 * This is an installation
 * trac-0.12.2 is not installed - using install mode
 * Running /usr/sbin/webapp-config -I -h localhost -u root -d /trac trac 0.12.2
* Fatal error: Your configuration file sets the server type "apache"
* Fatal error: but the corresponding package does not seem to be installed!
* Fatal error: Please "emerge www-servers/apache" or correct your settings.
* Fatal error(s) - aborting

I just took this package on and I'm trying to give it love :) I'm willing to consider patches against HEAD @;a=summary

Tracd server support will be available in the next version. Any extra configuration that tracd needs to get a web app running will be your responsibility or the ebuild maintainers', however this is a total aside.

webapp-config will now allow you to set your server as Tracd and will allow you to install web apps under that premise.
Comment 3 Devan Franchini (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2015-07-06 00:55:39 UTC
This is fixed in webapp-config-1.54 which is currently on the tree. Marking as resolved.
