Description Zeek 2004-01-16 11:39:44 UTC
I'm trying 2.6 kernel which opps on me several times. When I restart the machine, nagios doesn't start up:

ops root # /etc/init.d/nagios status
 * status:  started
ops root # /etc/init.d/nagios stop
 * Stopping nagios...
start-stop-daemon: warning: failed to kill 2952: No such process [ ok ]
ops root # /etc/init.d/nagios zap
ops root # /etc/init.d/nagios start
 * Starting nagios...                                                                                       [ ok ]

umm from the sounds of it, it's probably a corruption bug

review that the configuration files for nagios are all ok and it works just fine outside of the init.d script
Comment 2 Zeek 2004-02-15 12:01:37 UTC
It isn't a corruption bug. WHen the top level nagios process doesn't shutdown cleanly, it wont restart without issuing a '/etc/init.d/nagios zap'
