Description Zac Medico gentoo-dev 2011-09-06 21:23:49 UTC
This is intended to be suitable for use on a master distfiles mirror, but should also have the ability to select subsets of packages for mirroring. This will make it useful for branches like funtoo, that need to mirror files that are unique to their branch. It would also be useful to have the ability to fetch for specific profiles and configurations, for people who want to maintain a local mirror that supplies distfiles for multiple configurations.

I hope that this mirroring tool could work for the Gentoo Infrastructure team too. (eg. replace mirror-dist entirely)

The new tool is called emirrordist, ii's very similar to the old mirror-dist tool, and it's released in 2.1.11.39 and 2.2.0_alpha150.

Yeah, it's already live on osprey, and it seems to be working well.
