xtrlock is one of the best lightweight alternatives for bloated software like xscreensaver and gnome-screensaver. One thing it seriously lacks is blank screen support. Stock xtrlock allows anyone to see what's going on at screen (while blocking its control). This can be considered as security issue. For those concerned, I've made custom ebuild which makes xtrlock blank screen before locking X session. The patch is borrowed from: http://forums.freebsd.org/showthread.php?t=15678 (by @aragon). Hopefully, this will be useful for other people too. Reproducible: Always

If anyone consider pushing it to main tree, then (s)he should make this patch optional.
Introducing new features shouldn't be done on distro level, we try to follow upstream as close as possible. Please submit your patch upstream.
I know, I've placed it here just for other people to use it in their local portage trees. No plans to push it in tree. But yes, I'll check if upstream is active and would add this feature in their tree.
