gnome-mplayer supports both gtk2 and gtk3. While gtk3 is nice, if one's desktop is still gtk2-centric, this makes for inconsistent (and butt-ugly by default) application themes that do not synchronize to the remaining desktop. This makes use of the existing gtk3 USE flag to decide what widget set one wants to use. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: emerge gnome-mplayer, launch it, note gtk3 widgets. Actual Results: gtk+3 app in a gtk+2 desktop Expected Results: app that matches the current widget set (be it gtk3 or gtk2) I'm offering this as a convenience. There might be a big push towards gtk3 which makes people philosophically inclined to discard gtk2 as soon as possible that I am not aware of and if so I do not want to offend any sensibilities. I like my gtk2 and this is for people who do too.
Created attachment 281365 [details] Ebuild that lets one enable/disable gtk3 No ebuild expert but this works for me. Please point out if there are obvious mistakes.
