Description Iván Perdomo 2011-06-22 12:14:52 UTC
Gentoo Packages is using a Google Custom search for searching only in the domain packages.gentoo.org but is not working.

http://www.google.com/custom?sa=Search&q=chromium&sitesearch=packages.gentoo.org

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Visit http://packages.gentoo.org
2. In the left column search box, enter any package, e.g. chromium
3. Boom! Google reports an error
Actual Results:
The Google page says:

The resulting Google page is something like this:

We're sorry...

... but your computer or network may be sending automated queries. To protect our users, we can't process your request right now.

Expected Results:
A list result with the list of packages matching the search term

An good alternative should be use DuckDuckGo (DDG) [1] in the site for searching packages. They claim better privacy settings [2]

I found this error trying to use the !ebuild bang [3]
