I'm using systemd, so, no sysvinit stuff here. I'd like to speed up the boot time, but finnally found out that udev.service took too much time to start. I've council the systemd mail list, and they said that some gentoo rules slow udev down. Then I recompile the udev without gentoo patchset. Surprise! udev no longer took ~7s to settle, just ~2s is enough. And udev works without gentoo pathset. I don't know why gentoo patchset exist on the begining. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.install udev and sytemd 2.boot 3.systemd blame Actual Results: udev.service should took less than 2s. Expected Results: udev.service took about 7s
Should be systemd-analyze blame
